( 05 ) Before drones

We were shootingaerials from lightaircraft before dronesexisted.

Years of working from fixed-wing planes taught us to compose fast, work in extreme conditions and plan every pass. Drones made aerial work more accessible — that experience is what makes ours look different.

( 06 ) Flight plan

From briefto final cut.

Safe, legal, well-planned flights — so on the day, all you see is the footage.

  1. Waypoint 01

    Brief & recce

We talk through what the footage needs to do, then survey the site on maps and, where useful, in person.

  2. Waypoint 02

    Airspace & permissions

We check the airspace, plan the flight and risk-assess the site, working within our CAA permissions.

  3. Waypoint 03

    Flight day

We fly in the best weather and light window — and reschedule rather than deliver second-best.

  4. Waypoint 04

    Edit & delivery

Graded stills, an edited 4K film and social cuts, delivered ready for web, print and pitch decks.

( 08 ) Questions

DroneFAQs.

Are you CAA permitted to fly commercially?

Yes. 246 Photography holds the necessary permissions from the Civil Aviation Authority to fly commercially, and every job is planned and risk-assessed before we take off.

Can you fly in Manchester city centre?

Often, yes — but city centres and areas near airports have airspace restrictions. We check every location in advance and plan each flight around local restrictions, so you’ll know what’s possible before booking.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Safety and quality come first. If wind, rain or light would compromise the flight, we’ll agree a new date with you rather than fly in unsuitable conditions.

Can you capture photos and video in the same flight?

Yes. Most shoots combine high-resolution stills and 4K video, so you get a full set of assets for your website, social media and print from one visit.

What will I receive?

Professionally edited, colour-graded stills and an edited film, plus shorter cuts for social media on request — delivered digitally in the formats you need.

Do you travel outside Manchester?

Yes. We’re based in Greater Manchester and Hull, regularly work across the North West, Lancashire and Yorkshire, and have clients in London and Scotland.
